A good day after an hour run at Piepenberg Park yesterday. A better job of pacing this week as Zach Zimmerman, Ryan Ahlers, Seth Buntrock and Trent Baumeister all ran even or negative splits with many others running reasonably close. Newcomer Zach once again led the team and earned 5th place on the junior time trial list with his 18:04. Ryan improved 43 seconds to place 8th on the freshman list. A lot of time cut by others from last week led by Seth (-2:20), Matt Beckman (-2:11), Trent (-2:09), Derek Schwarzrock (-1:12), and Ben Boor (-:40). Congratulations to Derek and Ben as they finished in the top 7 for their first time while runner-up Eric Griep ran in the top 7 for his 20th time. Definitely some changes with the top 7 will make for a stronger team overall. Missing due to injury are Drew Addington, Nick Puchalski, Matt Reed, and Rudy Goldstein. Many others missed due to a variety of reasons. Congratulations on personal bests for Zach, Ryan, Seth and Matt. Cutting the most from last year's second time trial were Nick Snitker (-1:40) and Derek (-1:08). It is fun to see the improvement most have from year to year. Congratulations also to newly named team captains, seniors Dan and Drew. The top runners completed about 115 miles the first 2 weeks with others close behind. Looking forward to the first meet at St. Cloud Apollo.
