A move from the usual Monday before conference to today changed this meet a lot from what it has been the last few years. Few teams had the conflicts that they did with the old date and there were many more runners than a year ago. Last year there were a total of 71 runners in the three races while this year there were 122! The move does make a change for us as none of the 7th and 8th graders ran the conference JV race as many have in the past. The 9th graders did a nice job of racing considering they had a 5K race yesterday. As usual, another good showing by our team with 8 bringing home medals with top 15 finishes. This meet is always a good one with a nice awards ceremony, a course with a big hill and trails through the woods. The 9th graders bring home the championship after placing 4th as 7th graders then 2nd last year. A great accomplishment! Congratulations to Ryan and Lukus as their times are the 2nd best for their grades in the 8 years we have gone to this meet. Compared to last year, the most time was cut by Seth as he ran 1:53 faster on the same course! Ryan cut 1:09, Carsen cut :30, Trent cut :28 and Ben cut :17. Compared to 2 years ago, Seth cut 2:44 while Ryan cut 2:31! Looking forward to Shakopee on Tuesday. It is a mile for the 7th and 8th graders and it is the last meet of the year for all except the varsity.
