| No personal bests today, but the
course is a little long and more challenging than usual
with some nice rolling hills. Times will be adjusted for
comparison as a reasonable estimate is 100 meters long.
Won a decisive win on JV while the varsity finished 3rd.
Missing Drew Addington on varsity as he decided to rest
for Thursday and get in a couple of hard training days.
We would have finished ahead of Litchfield with him, but
not ahead of Montevideo. Monte was rated 7th in class A
last week, although not in the top 12 this week. The race
of the day goes to Nick Snitker. He cut 35 places from
his varsity race last year along with 2:12! It was his
first time to finish as our 2nd runner. Two others joined
Nick in cutting a lot of time from a year ago as Adam
Wilke cut 2:04 and Noel Weispfenning cut 1:04. Adam led
the way for the 2nd meet in a row, his first 2 times to
lead our JV. Some casualties today as Bryan Kegley had a
bad abdominal pain, the rough terrain resulted in Dan
Gapp not finishing and Pete Radloff had trouble
breathing. A much improved race for the JV from Milaca as
they won for the first time in 4 years. In the past 6
years, we have had a total of 9 top 7 finishes. Today
there were another 5! Our lead pack ran smart and
maintained their pace throughout the race. A great job.
Definitely some nice competition within our own team, a
good way to improve. We finish a tough stretch of meets
Thursday at Buffalo. Top varsity teams should be
Andover and Monticello, both much improved from a year
ago. It appears we should be right in there for top 3, a
lot of teams we don't normally see. With our JV running
so well, we should definitely improve on last year's 7th
place finish. |
